About War (Poem by Ginnie Waite)

About War

                    3-4-26

Teach your children there's no power in war.

Only the pushback to even the score.

As the bombs bursting and as people hide

Putting their fear on the outside.

Teach your children there's no face in the fight.

No one can tell you who's wrong and who's right.

When guns are sounding and people are dying

Ripped from their lives for a prize no one's buying.

Feed your children the meaning of peace.

Don't stop believing that all war will cease.

As they grow into the world that they seek

Earth will respond and benevolence keep.

Show us our future and let us begin

Growing this love that breaks out from within.

Seeing the Earth as our kin and our mother

Being in harmony with us and each other

This is the gold and the silver of wealth.

That all of us live in a world of good health.

Shining our light now for all to be free.

Shining the light now to love you and me.

Holding our dreams and our world as a vision

We are the ones being called to this mission.
